NWA 2012 – booked up but not sold out!
As we said in our last update we were amazed by how quickly the onsite accommodation booked up. The good news is that some additional accommodation units are being made available for our guests. I was at the park yesterday and heard a progress report on 84 units being converted for guests. Pontins plan they will go on sale in the coming weeks and they will be made available first to those on the waiting list. To join the waiting list go to the 'Book' page on our website. When the units become available Pontins will then get in touch with you to take your booking.
Staying Off-site – Event Passes are now available
You can also attend New Word Alive by organising your own accommodation off-site. There are many places to stay very close to the park, including good value caravan parks, B&B's, cottages or hotels. Our website has a list of local accommodation to start you off.
If you stay off-site you will then need to buy an event pass to attend New Word Alive. Event passes are now available to buy from our online shop. Prices are frozen from last year at £110/adult and £50/child, with those aged 2 and under free.
2012 Programme Update
We are delighted to share some details about the main morning tracks we have planned for NWA 2012. We hope they whet the appetite! More programme details will come in future updates.
Jonathan Lamb will be taking our Bible Readings each morning during NWA. He is going to be teaching us from the book of Ruth, showing us God's gracious hand over both the tender and tragic parts of our lives. You can get to know Jonathan a little in the interview with him in this update.
Paul David Tripp will be leading a track on the topic of marriage. Paul will help us see the challenge of our marriage is actually the challenge of dealing with our sinful hearts. He will offer us both realism and Biblical help in battling with our hearts so we go forward in our marriages.
Becky Manley-Pippert is going to be encouraging us in our personal witness to the friends and family as well as those we bump into in our daily lives. Practical and realistic, Becky is a wonderful trainer and inspiration in sharing our faith.
William Taylor will teach our Rough Guide to the Whole Bible showing us how the Bible fits together as one book telling one story about God's plan for his world. Seeing this big picture will not only help us understand the Bible better but gives us the thrill of seeing God's great plan for his world through Jesus and so grasp what we are part of today.
Like us on Facebook – and have a chance to win a free worship album
NWA now has a new Facebook page. Due to some changes at Facebook our old NWA group is going to be archived, so come and join us at the new page where you'll find news, information and photos from the event. To go to the new page use the link below and then click 'Like' at the top of the page so we feel we have some friends! New Word Alive Page.
To encourage you to do that we will draw at random five names from the list of New Word Alivers who have 'liked' us by Monday 31st October 2011. If your name is one of those drawn we will send you a free copy of our 2011 worship album 'Walking by Faith' with Bob Kauflin. Even if you have already bought your copy it would still make a good present for a friend or family member.
Meet Jonathan Lamb

At New Word Alive 2012 Jonathan Lamb will be giving our Bible Readings from the book of Ruth. Jonathan is the Director of Langham Preaching, a programme which seeks to raise up a new generation of preachers around the world. He is married to Margaret and they have three daughters and a son-in-law. We asked him a few questions so we could get to know him ahead of the event.
Quick fire questions
Best meal: Chinese/Thai
X-factor or Strictly Come Dancing: definitely X-factor – I am wondering about applying.
What makes your daughters most embarrassed of you: the photos recording my dress sense and hairstyle for our wedding in 1975; and also when I break out in song in the middle of a sermon.
Favourite destination: Western Isles of Scotland, the Northern latitudes of Norway, the South Island of New Zealand, Café Nero in Blackwells bookshop, Oxford …
Art gallery or sports pitch: definitely the art gallery - the Art Institute in Chicago, the Louvre, the Rijksmuseum, if this doesn't sound too pretentious (moi?). I am also happy to end the day watching the snooker world championships.
Specialist Round
How did you become a Christian? At the age of 5, through a mission for young children in north London. In particular, it was through the influence and example of my parents.
What do you find most enjoyable about your job? Undoubtedly the privilege of meeting believers in a wide variety of countries and continents around the world – it is impressive to see the sacrificial commitment and joyful faith of Christians in many demanding settings.
How are you feeling about 6 days in North Wales next April? With keen anticipation! I love the event, the north Wales coast, the chance to be with so many believers, and the wonderful weather.
What excites you about the book of Ruth and what do you hope the Lord will teach us together? Many of us wonder how God's purposes are worked out in the midst of ordinary life, with its ambiguities and sometimes its tragedies. This remarkable story is a testimony to God's providential care, and I hope we will be encouraged to trust God's faithfulness more fully and to demonstrate his steadfast love more wholeheartedly.
We do hope you will be able to join us next year
Yours warmly,
Nigel Beynon
Director of New Word Alive
